late but...

finally done!
With immense feelings of guilt for not having delivered my coloured alphabet on time..., but also with a triumphant sense of accomplishment(!!!) for having finally completed it, here is my second set of letters for the ALAW 2011 project. This time I chose my native language's alphabet: greek! I "drew" it in photoshop and then played with a scanned monotype from a just completed series titled: "landmarks".
I enjoyed being part of this international art space and loved seeing the amazing alphabets produced by you..., and you.., and you, and all!!!
Fiona, thank you for welcoming my participation and for creating this lovely project that truly gave me some fun breaks... All the best wishes to all of you for the new year and for all your future projects,
Happy 2012!

confessions...

OK! I guess I cannot pretend, or keep a secret! I am not good with projects that the element of a deadline looming is not near...

I have to admit that I finished my black and white with a touch of pattern (and light) alphabet some time ago, and I have been going through the motions of every now and then posting updates on the progress, kind of... faking/pretending that I am still slowly working on it...

As I said, I am not good at faking or pretending; so here it is:

Anna's black and white with a touch of pattern and light Alphabet Flag Structure Book!
Digitally generated alphabet, printed with archival pigmented inks on Epson paper.
I used vellum on the concertina section for its translucence quality, thus facilitating the "light" element of my composition.
Photographed lit from the back, to "showcase" the translucency of the structure.

black and white and a touch of...

... pattern and light!

Digitally designed and generated, printed on watercolor Epson, perforated from the back.

First of all I want to say how happy I am for participating in ALAW 2011! Thank you Fiona for making it possible, and for welcoming me to such wonderful group.

I have been following the postings during the 2010 "season" and deeply admired everyone's artistic skills and expertise in calligraphy. I am humbly presenting my first few letters' attempt, created in photoshop and eventually presented upon completion in a fashion that will put to action my bookbinding/paper structuring skills.
Until next time I wish you all happy letter making and wonderful next four weeks!
